Founded as L&T Information Technology Ltd in December 1996, LTI is a wholly- owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T). From 2001-to 2002 the company's name was changed from L&T Information Technology Limited to Larsen & Toubro InfoTech Limited.
LTI social initiatives help empower communities with a focus on improving the quality of education among children from marginalized communities and helping them stay in school, enhancing the skills of the marginalized youth and women, providing special education & skills for physically and intellectually challenged people, and addressing the critical issue of environment conservation. LTI projects help promote sustainable community development, with a commitment to promote the cause of creating a more inclusive society.
Skill and Knowledge Development centre, is a women empowerment project associated with Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha since the year 2018. The project aims are to provide tailoring training skills to underprivileged community women and provide livelihood opportunities. In the last four years, LTI provided in partnership with Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha (SMVS) tailoring training to 334 women, making them self-employed with the support of marketing linkages. The family income of the women doubled, making them empowered, earning members of their families, and allowing them to save money for themselves, education of their children, etc.
Past four years LTI has been our funding partner, providing funds for Pune (Rahatani) and Navi Mumbai (Rabale) centres. With the help of this fund, the organization has trained a total of 754 women in Pune and Mumbai over the last four years.
As well as the organization has started production centers with the collaboration of Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha (SMVS) and LTI. The objective is of creating self- employment for trained women along with training institutes. Women are getting empowered. Till now the organization has provided employment to 627 women.
Staff capacity building training program: Every person has a lot of potential but, if that capacity is properly planned and developed, every person will achieve their goal. So, with help of the LTI and SMVS, all staff capacity-building residential training is conducted for the Pune and Navi Mumbai center's staff. The LTI volunteers come to the training place and share their experiences and give guidance to staff in this training through sessions and motivational speeches.
Volunteer: LTI volunteers come over to the center and conduct sessions on different topics like communication skills, financial management, etc. Also, do celebrations on various occasions with beneficiaries.
Certificate Distribution: After completing 3 months of Basic tailoring training, the organization provides certificates to beneficiary women. So in these activities, LTI CSR person involved and encourages women to earn money and motivates them to empower.
